today's another day

I like trains

Always have, blame my dad.

This from yeaterday coming home from a trip to London, on a day when I'm told a £19Bn Elizabeth Line will help the economy across the country.

Arrived in Manchester at Piccadilly to realise that there's still only 2 through platforms and thus the Deansgate corridor still presents a bottle neck since the last tiny bit of rail investment here. The half mile Ordsall Chord, linked north and south finally and created a bigger problem, as well as cutting off the world's first passenger railway!

Crossrail up north also isn't happening now either. We've gone from being first to last in 200 years.

Will HS2 ever get here, we'll wait and see?
