Mourning Dove

Several Mourning Doves (Zenaida macroura) can always be found in the grass underneath my sister’s bird feeders. They prefer to pick their seeds up off the ground instead of eating directly out of the feeders. This timid one was waiting in the driveway because some aggressive birds came along and scared it away from the food.
