Squeaking beetles?

These attractive little insects are Scarlet Lily Beetles, which are apparently capable of completely stripping lily plants in the garden.  I've just read  that they can deter predators by squeaking and are audible if you hold them close to your ear - I'll have to try that tomorrow!
