Tiny Tuesday
I had great ideas for this week's challenge 'something technical'. In a former life I was a laboratory technician, so that should be a doddle, right?
But I've changed the plan as being too - um - distasteful. No, actually, I'll put in as an extra, just for fun.
So here's a quick take on technology, a wind-up torch - very useful item so long as it's wound now and again, which it was but the light was too bright for the camera.
Extra is a page in a book I bought in a charity shop recently, Bacterial Atlas, photographs of bacteria under microscopic magnification. (That's the Technology for the challenge). Trouble is, I later discovered that half the plates were missing, all those of more interesting bacteria. However, having been stained the organisms do look quite pretty and I chose this, a parasite of the intestines, Giardia, found in untreated contaminated water and which causes diarrhoea. Magnified x1200, the cells are about 10-14µ (microns) long, so qualify for the Tiny challenge.
Thanks to H0tamer for continuing to host the challenge.
