Completing The Everest Challenge
We had notification in the week that today a local man would be completing the Everest Challenge for charity up the hill behind our house. The Everest Challenge is where you climb the height of Everest in stages. My nephew did it last year by mountain biking up Snowden 10 times.
Shaun, on the right, was doing it on a road bike by cycling up the hill 76 times, covering 127 miles. He had odd people cycling with him for a few ascents each but he was the only one to complete all 76 ascents. He started at 5am and it took him over 17 hours, it was so tough and he looked exhausted but he achieved it and hopefully has raised plenty of money for the local hospice.
