The Long Haul Home
An early start from Dingle saw use well on our way to Dublin and an early lunch stop by 11.30. We arrived at the port well before the required time. What a difference from Holyhead a week ago, lines and lines of cars, camper vans, coaches and lorries. Everyone was loaded quickly and we set off early, the crossing was again comfortable with very little swell. Above we are out running a rival ferry. The arrival was on time but extracting ourselves from the port was a nightmare taking over a hour.
Once clear of the port we were dogged by variable speed limits for carriageway work. Then about 20miles short of home darkness was join by heavy rain. Was just be for Eleven o'clock we pulled up at home. It was a special time in Ireland and I would certainly like to return but it was good to be back home with Mrs A S and some very excited dogs!
