The Thatcher effect

This week saw the death of Margaret Thatcher, one that has caused split reactions and lots of outspoken comment. As usual, I sit on the fence with these issues as I can see the good and bad of what she enforced. However, working in a old mining town, the impression of the former mining community is still obvious and I wander how many people's lives here were effected by the closures all those years ago.
