Twins in the yard

Not the greatest photos as I had to shoot through the window and the deer were constantly moving but here is our first good look at this year's fawns.   And they look like twins to me!    We have seen one other fawn but it has not been back to the yard.     This duo only had a mom and what looks like last year's small buck.  The mom looks really small so she may be a young deer also.      We know there are more does around so hoping they will be bringing their babes to the corn feeder as they get older.

It always makes me happy to see babies in our deer population as the lack of habitat and food in our area decreases every year.  Not to mention being hit by cars while trying to cross the road from one section of trees to the other.   

I saw a rabbit in the yard yesterday for the first time in years.   There used to be so many that came to eat the dandelions but not for a long time.   Maybe the brush pile and weeds at the side of the woods is a good place for them.   

Rainy and humid here this week.   Walking outside in late afternoon is like being in a sauna.   But we need the rain so bring it on!
