After the Game

Went back to football tonight, up at Portobello High School, after more than two years away. A combination of covid restrictions, sore back and post-pandemic apprehension means it was more than two years since I last played. The guys have been back playing for some time and there were many familiar faces as well as a few new ones. Unfortunately one of our eight didn't show and we played a man down for the first half. Someone joined in for the second half but we were still second  best. Too many strong runners on the other team. I didn't score but did okay and provided assists for several of our goals. And I lasted the whole hour without damaging myself, so I think that counts as a success.
