No Squeaks, No Tunes, No Motors: No Batteries!

I've been getting out and cleaning some toys I bought 30 years ago when Rachel was a baby. I just kept a few of the classics. I found the Duplo and The Man went onto the loft to find the Brio.

This got us talking over tea about the other special toys our kids enjoyed, the dolls house and the Sylvanian family who lived in it, which I still have, and the Playmobil people, which seem to have been given away unfortunately.

What struck me was, how all of these toys were batteryless! All the noises and actions went on in the child's head. The story was all their own.

I hope I will be seeing a little person playing with them very, very soon!
