Rodeo time....
Another day of cattle work.
Walked the cows that had their feet done yesterday out to 2 different fields with their calves to join their mates that went out last week.
Then sorted out and bolused the calved heifers and their Angus cross calves. While the men were having their lunch I managed to get the lawn mower started with jump leads from a tractor and eventually got all the grass cuttings from the other day lifted off the front lawn .
After lunch we had a rodeo and took the heifers and calves to one of the hill fields next door where they will stay until they are weaned in mid July . It's about a couple of miles or more so they weren't running so hard by the time we got there !
After tea time, the bull that I have been trying to get out the field behind the steading for days was at the gate squaring up to the bull in the shed so I managed to get him in with some cows and shut him in the other side of the shed until I can shift him in the morning. When I last looked there was a lot of noise and pawing the dung up in the air as they continued to eye each other up across the feed passage. Hopefully they won't wreck the place before tomorrow !
Littlemiss took this sneaky shot of some old guy and his dog chasing the cattle across a field in the Landrover. No idea who that could be !
