Home made canal fence

Feel free to think I'm nuts I was watching a Coot collect twigs for a nest and then stumbled on this makeshift fence which is basically a giant version of what the Coot was doing.
OK its not a nest but the mixture of twigs/ branches and logs arranged haphazardly create an effect not unlike a birds nest.
