Mountains on Monday
It was such a clear morning I had to go back to see the snow on the mountains. Today I was looking north west to the tops in the Kahurangi National Park. The Twins on the left are 1796 m and 1809m and Mt Arthur to the right 1795m. I also saw two herons fishing and drove to the end of the road and discovered a picnic area, boat ramp, a closer view of the mountains and walking tracks. Places to explore another time. The herons in the bottom of the blip were fishing so I zoomed in on them.
The mountains I looked at are not as high as the ones John Denver sang about but it's a good old song.
Rocky Mountain High John Denver/Mike Taylor
He was born in the summer of his 27th year
Coming home to a place he'd never been before
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
You might say he found a key for every door
When he first came to the mountains his life was far away
On the road and hanging by a song
But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care
It keeps changing fast and it don't last for long
But the Colorado Rocky Mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullaby
Rocky Mountain high (Colorado)
Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
