Instead of volunteering, I enjoyed the final events of Aye Write in the audience this evening. This event was Ian Rankin talking about writing the Laidlaw novel, The Dark Remains. It was really interesting to hear how he researched it and to get an insight into what William McIlvanney had left in his notes. It's definitely on my reading list.
