Back on the Moor

We were back walking on Dartmoor again today with our walking group. It was a 9 mile walk from the Warren House Inn. From start to finish, 10.30 to 4.30, we could hear cuckoos, but this is the time of year and the place to hear and see them. Almost guaranteed. The weather was perfect and the views spectacular. It was mostly open moor but we did pass through Heathercombe which has picture postcard cottages - see extra. After  the walk we had a drink at the Warren House - where the fire has never gone out for years and years. My knees are gradually finding the hills and uneven ground difficult, and by 4.30 were not talking to me.
