Faraway Follies
This weekend we’ve joined an old friend ‘babysitting’ the animals at Faraway Follies, a fascinating quirky rural location not far from Llangollen, where house martins are nesting in the eaves, nuthatches are busy in and out of their nest and we hear the call of the cuckoo. J was persuaded into the plunge pool - a balmy 10 degrees (or was it barmy! ) - rather colder than the river he said!
After a lazy start today we head to Llangollen, walking along the river to the horseshoe falls (top right) and the serpents tail - being enjoyed by plenty of canoeists today. En route home we call in at RHS Bridgewater, enjoy their fabulous flowers and see the little grebes nesting on the lake. Back home I plant out the runner beans. Notwithstanding the plunge pool it feels like it’s done us both good
