Calathea

Started sunny, but the clouds soon rolled in and it became chilly. Dennis spent the morning booking flights and accommodation for a holiday at the end of August. We're spending four days in Valencia and a week in Moraira. We have friends who live near there, so it'll be lovely to see them again.
Calum came over early afternoon to watch the cup final with Dennis. He gave me this lovely houseplant as a belated birthday present.
They had to watch the match on the tiny TV in Dennis's office, as the floor was being laid in the living room.
I escaped to the greenhouse and sowed various beans - runner, French and dwarf, as well as more peas. I think my early sowings failed because of the cold weather.
