Elegant dress for courting

I love this field down the road because a few weeks ago the meadowlarks were all over , then they were joined by the bobolinks. This male was checking out the road possibly for bugs. Their bubbling song can be heard all day. This is really great because grassland birds are generally in decline Bobolinks have declined 50% since 1970 mostly due to habitat loss- decrease in farms and a rise in industrial farms. So the local farmer who isn't haying this field yet ( and hopefully not till late July /early August)  is appreciated. The extra is a side view , though I just couldn't resist using the back view of his gorgeous colors for the main photo.
