Memories
Erythronium dens canis, the Dogs Tooth Violet, so called due to the shape of the bulb it grows from. These plants were raised from seed I collected in Andorra in 1996. (Thats BC - Before Children!) I was on my first mountain flower holiday, the very first day we visited a high valley, snow on the ground at mid-summer, and found this plant in flower. Just a few yards away, where the snow had lain less deep and melted earlier, there were a few seed heads. I was a father twice over before these flowered for the first time! Good memories :)
