Today a drive south to look for a the village called Brécey mentioned by someone who will be visiting next month.
The countryside is beautiful, with trees and fields looking bountiful. On the way back we called into Villedieu to order some green clay for a friend on Mull, the pharmacist thought it would be in by Monday. Afterwards nursing a small beer in the sunshine we watched the world go by.
As we people watched six bikers appeared from the bar, they looked to be about our age, give or take five years. One woman had her own bike, yellow, I was fascinated as she dressed for the off, there was no rush, two bikes with two people on, two had single riders.
Green clay has a number of uses; four years ago when looking after a a goat we noticed it had a poorly leg. Following some advice we wrapped a poultice of green clay around the leg for a few days. I will leave you to imagine how two us caught the goat, grabbed a leg, delicately wrapped a loaded bandage around it, re wrapped it after the clay ended up all over my face……. Also can be used as a face mask, or by mixing with water in a glass and letting it stand for two hours before drinking it, apparently good for clearing the system.
