Nightingales

I went to Lidl and there was a nightingale singing on the edge of the car park. When I went to the municipal dump there was one singing in a nearby copse. And last night heard them below the house. What audacious birds, with such a loud and immediately recognisable call.

The false acacia/locust trees are splendid this year. The nightingale was up there somewhere (extra)

But these are poppies growing in front of the poly tunnel

The smell of lemon blossom on our terrace in the evening bird and cricket/cicada song is fleetingly bewitching.
