Try-out for Toby

A big day for Toby today. I brought him to Vlagtwedde to a dog-hotel for a try-out day. Hopefully this will become his new address where he can stay when we are going on holidays.

We left at 06.45 and arrived in Vlagtwedde at 'Faunatuurlijk' around 07.30.
After a short acquaintance I left him in the good care of the people running that place. Here's the website: https://faunatuurlijk.nl
It's not a kennel but a dog hotel, with livingrooms instead of dog houses with bars. Dogs are grouped into packs the whole time. And being part of a pack is just what a beagle likes.

During the day we received short filmclips of Toby and his behaviour in the group. He seemed to like it there.
Around 17.30 I could pick him up again. Annemarie came along. Toby was so happy to see us, a tired happy beagle came running towards us.
We had a long talk with the owner of the place. She liked Toby very much, he behaved well in the group, although at some points he was a bit dominant. But that was solved by making slight changes in the packs.
The leader of the pack Toby was in was a huge doberman, called Paul, an impressive dog. But Toby was accepted immediately accepted by him.
Perfect!

Both Annemarie and I have a good feeling about this place, so we asked if we could book him for the summer and for a weekend in two 2 weeks from now. The summer was already fully booked, but there might a possibility. The other weekend was no problem.

Once home, Toby was very tired but also still exited. He didn't sleep much, except for a short while on my lap.

Later in the evening we received a message that Toby could come in the summer as well, the second half in July. I immediately confirmed this period. Check!! Next step: Organize our summer holiday from July 16th until July 29th. But that's tomorrows chore.

I'm so happy we finally have this address for Toby!
