Election night blackout

It’s Federal Election night here in Australia. The polls closed at 6pm, coverage of unfolding events commenced on television and boom, the power went off here in our little part of the world at 6.01pm. Was this my punishment for turning away from the major parties? So..it’s baked beans, (we have a gas stove), candles, the fire and the iPad, which has valiantly stepped up to keep us informed.
