Mercer-Williams mansion is a beautiful antebellum home in a beautiful, storied city...  

The house was the scene of the best-selling non-fiction novel by John Berendt, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."  It figured prominently in the 1997 movie. The house is still owned by members of the Williams family. The first floor is open for tours. The stately old home and its story are worth a visit... (the family does not permit photographs of the interior, but if you've seen the movie, you've been in the house).
