Northern Fells Craftsmen
Sorting through boxes of our business stuff The Mate had been storing I came across a box of stuff we used at shows we did when we had a craft group. Amongst the old bank statements and exhibitor lists were a copper name badge, the weighted doily sort of things to keep flies out of the milk jugs and a porcelain pot made by Anne, one of our members.
Anne loved using pink glazes and her pots were often finished by pinching the clay out very finely around the rims. Many of her pots had delicate flower and leaf adornments on them.
This was a timely discovery as I'm arranging to meet up with a member of this group which has been closed since the start of the millennium.
A tough day talking about The Mate with a business associate and then, on the phone, helping to compose an article about him for an online craft association.
