At The Palace

This afternoon I went to Buckingham Palace with A for his gold Duke of Edinburgh award ceremony. He actually completed it two years ago, but the ceremonies have only just got going again after Covid.
It was very grand and a lovely occasion. We were blessed with dry weather and some sunshine - it had rained all morning, so this was a relief!
I felt very proud of my lovely son. He is a treasure. Just a shame that he could only have one guest, so Mr M couldn’t be there too.
We listened to some speeches, including one from Prince Edward, wandered round the gardens and had some cupcakes. Unfortunately there was only tea and no coffee. Neither of us drink tea so we ditched the tea in the Queen’s garden so we could keep the take-home cup. I’m sure it was good for the plants!
