World Bee Day

Listening to the radio early this morning I learnt that today is World Bee Day. Declared by the UN in 2018, and promoted by Slovenia, this date was chosen because on this day in 1734 Anton Janša, a pioneer of modern apiculture, was baptised (his birth date is unknown).

So this combo of an allium in flower and a tree bumblebee seems an appropriate celebration.
