Cyclamen

Alright, I’m a self confessed botanical ignoramus but I know this one because my mother used to keep a couple of them on a ledge behind the hot plates on the stove. Here they lived happily amidst the droplets of boiling fat, steam and sometimes smoke. Is it possible to kill a cyclamen?
