Rip it up and start again ....
An early start to get things fed before Geordie arrived in with his lorry to collect the 15 cattle for the mart at St Boswells at 7am. Got them loaded without too much hassle any way.
Left Kev on mucking out and headed off down the road in the car. It goes a bit quicker than my usual Landrover and trailer full of cattle so had to remember the speed cameras !
They sold quite well ,my top pen of bullocks made £1300, my worst heifer £750 ,but she was what she was.
A quick lunch in the canteen then straight up the road and into the big smoke to collect Littlemiss from school after her Biology exam so she could come home and swat for higher History tomorrow.
A quick feed of things then back in the car and off to the chiro tonight. No wonder the back was starting to niggle, since Tuesday I've clocked up 550 miles in the car , plus another couple of hundred in the Landrover and trailer over the weekend and Monday. Hopefully tomorrow I can stay at home and get some work done !
This was the contractor in today ripping the field that the quarry folk made a mess of reinstating last year. Hopefully this will help break up the compaction and help the soil drain better before we re sow it with grass.
We shall see......
