Jerónimos Monastery

I've tried, in the main, to give an idea of the exquisite stonework within the monastery. The extra shows the scale of the building and why perhaps I can't show more. That sky is a temporary fix; it was altogether blue but I casually cut off the top of the dome, and had to merge two versions, badly.

The extra also shows some of the queues. If you weren't wary - and many weren't - you'd queue here for an hour to get in, only to find the ticket office was beyond the small green marquee to the far left. You'd then have to go get your tickets, and queue again to get in. Oh, the horror.

I was amused time and again by the millennials who wandered around the cloisters with their phones, taking selfies. That their own head blocked details of the very place they were supposed to be visiting was irrelevant. The selfie was all.

Not that we've not taken a few selfies, eh.
