Pickens Nose

Is a really bad name for this summit of a moderately strenuous short hike.  Only 2 miles round trip but half of the trail is uphill with rocks and roots.  Several outcropping of large rocks gave us good views of the surrounding area. See extra.

My hubby texted while we were on the trail and asked if we knew how to get back to civilization!   He keeps up with me on the family tracker app we have on the iPhone.  Since there is only one way in and out we were good.  

Another day tomorrow for exploring. We hope to go to Cades Cove to hike to a waterfall. Maybe we will see the elk on that side of the park.
