Cave Art?
We are home from what TM calls the 'shake-down cruise' - out first little venture forth in Wally, the Motorhome.
fIt's a bit like living in a cave that's dry and where it's easy to make toast.
MH's come in many different shapes and sizes and internal layouts. Ours has what is called a drop-down bed. This is a good idea, lots more space inside if you don't have a fixed bed. The downside is that it doesn't drop down all the way to normal bed level, your are suspended somewhere in mid-air, and when one of you gets cramp in the middle of the night there's a bit of turmoil involving pitch darkness and a ladder ... so it was a rather disturbed sleep ... Of course, we may discover that it can come down further ... we haven't got very far with the manuals.
But when the dawn came it was beautiful, and we were glad to greet it. We drove down to the beach and had breakfast there (first extra), followed by a walk along the sand (tide well out today). I've not had an AT shot for a while, but I saw this and thought it rather mysterious ...
We've learned a lot in our short trip. First, that wandering at will in one of these vehicles is just not going to happen - not on our roads ... and as for parking ... we will have to plan more carefully. (That really goes against the grain with us, we now understand why the (lovely) people we bought this from said they were downsizing. Not that Wally is big, in the World of Motorhomes, just on the scale of the roads around here).
Back up the A1 then, stopping off at a shed which sells all things outdoorsy, where we bought a few things to improve van life - a small table for when we sit outside enjoying our pre-dinner drinks and a fold-up stool to help the short-legged (me) get in and out of the thing without ripping a tendon.
Percy and Douggie weren't terribly excited by our reappearance. Ample supplies of food and water seem to compensate quite easily for the absence of strokes. No little presents from them, which suits us nicely.
Thanks, Ingeborg, for the AT challenge, always challenging :-)
