Waterfalls and views.
A dull day and we started with an early visit to the fish van in Birstall market.
Afterwards it was off to meet our Pudsey Rambler friends near The Malt pub Harden.
Today’s walk took us through the woods and along the side of Harden beck to Goit Stock and the waterfalls. Many of my Blip friends know this well as it is on their doorstep, and have taken numerous photos.
It really looked beautiful today.
I spotted an American mink as it darted along the waters edge. ( black furry creature with a furry tail)
Also a grey wagtail and a dipper.
From the water falls we walked up to Catstones where we stopped for lunch. By that time the sun had come out and the rest of the day has been very warm and sunny.
From here we walked over Harden Moor, and back to the car.
A really enjoyable walk although we were sure it was longer than the 5.5 miles it said on the syllabus.
This is definitely my favourite time of year, when the woods, fields and hedgerows are full of wild flowers. The trees covered in fresh bright green leaves, and the birds singing their heart out.
Collage shows the view from Catstones Moor, and the woods and waterfalls of Goit Stock.
One of our rambling friends lives in a park home on the way up to the waterfalls, and my extra collage shows some of her collection of ornaments in her lovely little garden.
