Ups and Downs
I used to take Ethan to ice-skating lessons in Edinburgh last year, but the ice-rink stopped doing them for his age group after we'd had 6 lessons due to lack of demand. Ethan has asked lots of times when he can go back, so as the Time Capsule in Coatbridge now does pre school sessions on a Thursday morning, I asked if he wanted to go there. I got a big "yes" as a reply!
It wasn't a lesson but an open skating session for the wee ones, with the penguin skating aids to help them. Despite Ethan's enthusiasm it was a bit of a disaster though. He struggled to walk in the ice-skates at all and was really nervous on the ice. It seems like he has completely lost his confidence now which is a shame cos he was doing so well last year.
We then drove to Almond Valley Heritage Centre, had some lunch there and met my friend Shona, her son Ruardih and her Mum. The boys haven't seen each other much recently but seemed genuinally really pleased to see each other which was fab. We had a great time there with them - the nutty bouncer was particularly popular with them today!
Back home and I had to quickly find Obi & Leia, battle to get them both in the cat basket and whisk them up to the vets for their annual boosters. Ethan really enjoys going to the vet and seeing all the other animals in the waiting room. He kept trying to show the vet his toy giraffe while he was checking over the cats and didn't give up till the vet said what a lovely giraffe it was haha!
Just Ethan and I at home together for dinner, as hubbie working overtime tonight. Granny and Grandpa arrived just before Ethan's bathtime so got big smiles and Grandpa was immediately asked by Ethan to play shops with him.
Ethan was shattered after such a hectic day and went to sleep quickly tonight. However he woke at 10.30pm and was really upset. Crying loads and complaining of a sore head before throwing up all over his PJs too. Calpol, and lots of cuddles later, he finally went back to sleep with hubbie sitting in the nursing chair in his room to watch over him. Hope he's ok as that's 2 evenings this week he has complained of a sore head.
