Hopefully Not Sad....

Took Polly for a walk on Otley Chevin today - beautiful sunny day, and NO wind :-)
As we set off on our walk we met a lady with eight dogs - all shapes and sizes. We passed the time of day and Polly had a play with them and then we went our respective ways.
When we returned to the car park we met another couple with a dog and this labrador puppy. They had found it wandering around on the Chevin. I recognised it as one of the eight the lady had earlier - but she had gone.
We could only surmise that she had loaded the car with her dogs and somehow missed this one. It's a lovely puppy and in good condition.
We waited an hour but the lady did not return. We were joined by a lady walker (no dog) who lived at the foot of the Chevin and she offered to take it home with her. We put up some 'Puppy Found' posters with her mobile number on and gave the lady some doggie treats - for the puppy :-)
I have just checked with her but she hasn't heard anything yet :-(
She was taking the puppy to the vets tonight to see if it was microchipped - lets hope it is :-)
She doesn't have a dog, but she has a daughter who thinks this little girl is gorgeous - so lets hope for a happy outcome. I have a feeling there will be one :-)

UPDATE - Puppy has been re-united with her owner. Collected Saturday. Happy ending :-)
