A Little Bit of Bread and no Cheese?

Is apparently how the Yellowhammer's song is described. Something makes me think there have been less of them around for the last few years, but this year I am noticing them more. When we first moved "here" 26 years ago, I kept a note of all the birds I would see around over the year, I estimate up to 30. I must find that book, I reckon we'd be lucky to see half that number now.
