A very wet day so minimum walking and destinations with a lid on.
J drove us to Ford for coffee followed by a visit to Lady Waterford’s gallery.
Afterwards a wet tramp to Etal castle which didn’t have a lid and where the visitor centre was closed so it was into the Black Bull for lunch.
Suitably refreshed it was on to Heatherslaw corn mill to watch the miller at work. Sadly despite the rain there wasn’t enough water in the river to actually supply the power to grind wheat so the miller just explained the process.
