Our roadtrip to Lapland has started.

Morning was busy with packing and getting everything ready. My parents came at noon. We had lunch together and sorted everything for them as they'll look after Buddha for the next 10 days. This is our first vacation without dogs in 12 years. As Buddha hates car drives, we thought it would be best for him to stay at home. If we'd stayed at one place, we'd taken him with us, but as this is a roadtrip, he's better off at home.

Our first stop was in Kuopio. ("Kuopio is a Finnish city and municipality located in the region of Northern Savonia. It has a population of 121,557, which makes it the 8th most populous municipality in Finland.") My husband's younger sister with her family lives there. they have a 6 month old baby boy Robert, which I've never met before (Covid), so now we've met. It was a really nice stop. They live next to harbor area. Stunning place.



Now we are in Vieremä at my husband's parents place. We'll stay here for one night. Visit his grandmother tomorrow and then will continue and will reach the first stop of our Lapland roadtrip, which is Kuusamo.
