Mrs Smith bought me this Victorian walking stick made from the vertebrae of a shark. I’m some way from needing walking assistance but it will be excellent for promenading and in the meantime I’ll keep it next to the whisky cabinet for emergencies.

Later, Ruby made a delicious wild garlic pesto although she tells me it was slim pickings along the riverbank so it may be the last of the season. If so then it was a great way to bring the wild garlic season to a close.
