The weather forecast this morning was for rain all day so I decided to get wet sooner rather than later (by which time I may have wimped out). A longer circuit than yesterday took me towards Rydal then up by Scandale Beck to join the track coming down from Low Pike. I had my phone in a sealed bag in the pouch pocket of my Paramo jacket and a camera in a plastic bag in my rucksack.

I decided to get the camera out while under the shelter of the trees on the uphill section. What caught my eye was the new bracken coming up among the bluebells with the rust colour of last year’s stems.

The sun shone in the afternoon. I cleared a drain.
