Franklin murals
After our usual morning at church, we drove up to Twin Creeks Metropark southwest of Dayton for a hike. The route there took us through the town of Franklin, which has some amazing murals, painted by a nationally known, local artist, Erich Henn, who is particularly known for large scale murals and painting water towers - remarkable talent! The 3-D effect is amazing! Being mid afternoon by the time we reached Twin Creeks, it was quite a hot muggy walk, so we didn’t try the energetic trails today, but stuck to the river valley. In the evening, we watched an episode from the Netflix series Our Great National Parks, featuring Barack Obama as narrator, and featuring not just the US but the world’s most spectacular national parks - I never cease to be blown away by the amazing variety of scenery, animal life and plants and trees on this planet, and the adaptations some creatures have made to their unique surroundings, and of course the photography is amazing - you keep thinking, how on earth did they film that?
