Today I almost cried in school. I didn't though! The reason for it was a lovely one though...my favourite class (and I can call them that now!), the troisième INTER had all clubbed together to buy me a leaving present. Not only did I get a gorgeous tin of Normandy biscuits, and a candle reminiscent of the rose and cover in Beauty and the Beast, but they also got me the most gorgeous little book complete with a little something written from each of them to me. Who wouldn't get tearful at that?! I'm going to really miss those kids.

So, I only have one class in on a Wednesday, and it was my final class with my three troisième INTER students in preparation for their brevet. All I can say is that I am so proud of how much they have improved, and they all spoke for a long time without me having to interject...something that never happened at the beginning. They were also joined by another troisième who wanted "to see what it was all about" - I don't know how much he understood, but the fact that they have spoken about my lessons outside of the lessons makes me really happy!

Second-to-last lesson with my private student. Again, I am so happy at how much she has improved in such a short amount of time. I give her mountains of work to do (well, she does ask for it!) and we get through it in its entirety in just under two hours. At the beginning we would just about do half. One on one attention is sometimes all that a student needs to really flourish.

This photograph is taken just opposite the university, and is one of if not the only fountain in Caen. Now the weather is getting better and better I am sure we will soon see some Caen students in there!

Evening meal out with Becky and Claire, joined later by Kendra, at La Galleterie was just what I needed...a calm night after the few rather interesting ones. I don't think I will be stopping until leaving Caen now, and then after that who knows how much work I will be doing! Following some awesome food (chocolate and banana pancakes with cream for pudding, don't mind if I do!) we headed to Café Latin for a quiet drink. And it was just that, a quiet drink then home to bed for all. I know, usually it ends up with me being with three different sets of people in one night...but not tonight, that will be tomorrow night perhaps!
