The Inevitable

After Mr PB had been shopping for groceries this morning, we had a pleasant lunch in the garden. This afternoon, we had a walk from the door; a fine walk which filled in some gaps in an area we know very well, and covered a surprising range of habitats in a relatively small area, starting with a cut with reedbeds and marshland then a short stretch of road, then farmland, followed by heathland and finally woodland.Stonechats are always a feature of the heathland around here, and love perching atop the gorse, which at this time of year is full of flower and gives of a delicious aroma of coconut. From the watery part of the walk, a Banded Demoiselle is in extras.
