Summer

It was dull when I set out to walk Django, but the sky gradually cleared, and it became distinctly warm. Extending our walk, we went through the Estate, to the Ramsay Obelisk (see extras). The beautiful variety of greens was such a joy, but the best spot for me was at the Hurley Pond, where the beeches have just come into full leaf.

Scotland in early summer can be idyllic.
