Awesome

It’s often a word used to describe something that isn’t. But the Mesquita was truly awesome. It is HUGE and covers a very large footprint - a combination of Muslim and Christian architecture and spans several centuries. I had to google as we didn’t have a guide but I enjoyed wandering and enjoying the splendour. After our visit S suggested a walk down to the stables to see the horses. Imagine my surprise to find the Cordoba riding school (like The Spanish Riding School in Vienna) which was not been advertised on any tourist website I had researched in advance). Even better there was a show this evening! It was a combination of Portuguese/Spanish schools so we purchased tickets and it was such a treat. The horses were beautiful ( and the riders pretty good too!).

A very late supper Spanish style where I had a tuna dish that melted in the mouth. A glass of Pedro Jiminez completed a very special day.
