Henley-On-Thames

This evening I met two friends for dinner in Henley-on-Thames. We went for a short 10-minute walk through the churchyard, along the river, and ended up at The Angel pub for a drink before our meal at a Thai restaurant.

The church is St Mary’s Church. The white houses are the almshouses - there are more facing them across the green. The yellow building is the Chantry House - a medieval building from the 1400s. Singer Dusty Springfield lived in Henley in her final years and there is a memorial to her in the church yard.

The blue and white striped buildings across the river are the hospitality enclosures for the upcoming Thames regatta held in June.

The Angel pub is where we ended up for our pre-dinner drink. Our Thai meal (at Giggling Squid) was delicious!!

See Extra photo for something sweet I saw in the church yard in front of one of the almshouses. From a fellow dog-lover!
