Prickly plant

This little cactus, still with its tinsel wrapping, was given to me last Christmas. I was surprised to see this pink flower open up.  Maybe I should plant it in a bigger container and see if it will grow.
I'm ready to go to Canada, just a few items to still go into the suitcase. Hubby is feeling very frustrated tonight as he can't find his art bag (which he bought in Portugal many years ago) which contains his special fine liner pens and other art materials. Hopefully we won't have to replace everything. He will be lost without his sketching materials.
