Country church
This is the tiny church in Lluça, next to the house where we've been staying for the last few days. There are only half a dozen houses in the hamlet, of which I think only two or three are occupied year-round, so it's impressive to see it so well maintained. When we arrived on Tuesday a lady was repainting the interior, so she let S in and got the statue of Saint Sebastian out for him specially.
We were up early and set off for home via Vernet les Bains, where TickyTocky and Mrs TT welcomed us for lunch. After lunch we went to have a look at their art club's exhibition, part of a weekend of open studios in the Pyrénées Orientales. I would have blipped it, but TickyTocky pipped me to the post :)
From there it was an easy hour and a half drive home, and we arrived at about 5:30, immediately greeted by a plaintive cat. He has draped himself all over me, purring, and been served a bowl of poached fish. All is well again. It was a really lovely few days away, and we couldn't have been luckier with the glorious weather. Hopefully we'll return sometime to explore some more.
After a few days of gastronomic indulgence, it was soft boiled eggs and soldiers for dinner!
