Lithglow

Lithgow is a small town about 30 minutes from Blackheath.
There were once thirteen operational coal mines, now one,

I visited tonight to take in Lithglow, where the old blast furnace was the centrepiece of a light show.
The steelworks stopped operating about 1928 and were blown up.
Fortunately the blast furnace stubbornly remained standing, so we now have a stunning remnant industrial site.
Nearby wetlands were also lit up and the reeds and water reflections were beautiful.
Lots more I could say, but I'm too tired.

The main blip, of course, is hardly representative of the night.
This lovely woman agreed to me photographing her in what was very dim light.
The extras give you a flavour of the evening.
