Ferns in the Reserve.

Went walking today, and saw all the Kidney ferns / Raurena (Trichomanes reniforme) that have come back to life. In the dry weather they shrivel up, but today they were back to full size. Always considered them rather special, as locally this is the only place that I know of where they grow.
The fern that is on the top on the mould, is the Hounds Tongue / Kowaowao (Misrosorum pustulatus). I often see this one with the sunlight shining at the back of it, but have never managed to get a photo that does the patterns justice. The ferns on the left are the Sickle spleenwort / Petako (Asplenium polyodon) and the Hanging Spleenwort / Nga makawe o raukatauri (Asplenium flaccidum).
There are a wide variety of other ferns there too, so will be trying to capture them as well.
